2008 Winner: Mr. Charlie Kidd

My dearest Penelope,

2008 WinnersShakespeare I am not, and Fabio, you envision. Oh Please! Penny you have always inspired me, you are my guiding light, my unwavering North Star of Constance guiding me home safely. Our relationship began when we were still children, really, as seventh graders with a sparkle in the eye, a subtle smile, a fade away glance and of course the always present physical attraction. So many years later, millions of miles traveled, thousands of hours aloft, I still feel a "pitter patter" of excitement in my heart as I anticipate my return to your warm embrace. Now at my age, I'm not sure if these symptoms are the result of premature ventricular contractions and acid reflux, or old time feelings of an amorous nature? I do know for sure love, your sweet floral smell, soft feminine touch, and memories of our most intimate moments will forever quicken my pulse.

My dearest Valentine, I have trusted your judgment, wisdom, and compassion when dealing with life and death issues through our time together. Your sense of humor, has added much needed relief and laughter to an otherwise troubled world. I am thankful to have traveled this "journey of life" with you at my side.

My dearest Love, in my absence you personally held the family unit together and instilled family values in our daughters. They benefited from having a mother always there to offer support, understanding, and a great big hug to expunge all fear! You have continued that relationship with our daughters into their adulthood, and I know they cherish that bond.

My dearest Love, our wedding vows promised, "Until death do us part!" As we sail into uncharted waters of retirement and our "golden years" together, we find ourselves more dependent on each other that ever before. May we continue to love, respect and honor each other as uniquely individual and yet commonly bound. Hopefully laughter will continue to be our reminder of how blessed we are.

Your loving friend and husband, forever...
Charlie
